“PORTRAIT JOURNALS” 2016- Present

After I first moved to Brooklyn, I began collecting paper ephemera whenever I would go out with friends, from bars and restaurants we visited, free magazines that were handed out, newspapers, fliers, postcards, and pamphlets that I was able to gather. I’ve always enjoyed drawing portraits, and found myself saving images from fashion shoots to later draw when I was doing research for my job as a handbag designer. Soon, I began to mix the two in my notebook, and the below images are some of my favorite results. The notebooks themselves became a sort of time capsule of my twenties, that I enjoy looking back on a revisiting every now and again.
